From Paris Jazz Clubs to Stardom | Blick Bassy

Blick Bassy

Next we profile Blick Bassy the Cameroonian crooner and multi instrumentalist with a voice as smooth as silk. If you were out and about in Paris a few years ago you might have heard Blick strumming his guitar and singing his heart out at Le Baiser Salé, or the Sunset Sunside for a relatively small, lucky audiences. These days Blick performs at concerts and festivals all over the world and kicks off 2017 with a massive European tour. ( see tour dates below)

„Thanks to music I've grown. I've made incredible encounters. I visited and discovered the beauty of this world and the love that people can share“

- Blick Bassy -

Following the huge success of Blick Bassy’s first two albums, Léman and Hongo Calling (which featured Lénine, Richard Bona and Marcos Suzano) Blick Bassy’s third album Ako is released by an innovative new French record label called, “No Format.”

On “Ako” Blick sings in Bassa, a Cameroonian language about the villages where he grew up. Ako is indeed innovative as it very successfully features Blick’s voice backed by an unusual ensemble of a guitar, banjo, cello and trombone.
