The 'Invisible' Protagonist in Saul Williams | MartyrLoserKing

2,224

Poet/performer/writer Saul Williams' story of 'one of the ignored' — a hacktivist anti-hero in Burundi — is spread across multiple media: music, the page and the stage.

Williams sees 'MartyrLoserKing' as a provocation, a challenge to the Western attitudes towards a continent still bearing the scars of its colonial past.

Saul Williams was at The Banff Centre in 2014 for a self directed residency with Music + Sound.
